  • Our Victorian Tea at the McAllister House was so much fun! It was fun to use the china and the tea set. Really gives you a thrill to think they took the same sort of teas there in that house over 100 years ago! Thanks for a great time!

    Volunteers and Docents

    Volunteers

Over the years people in the community have been generous with their time and talents to benefit the Museum.  Among these volunteers have been painters, gardeners, puppeteers, barber shop quartets, Indian dancers, face-painters, and opera singers.

Volunteers are always needed for small repair projects at the house and grounds, computer expertise, public relations, special events, research projects, clean up, snow removal, and development of educational materials for school children.

Please call 719.635.7925 or e-mail mcallister.curator@gmail.com if you can be of help.

    Docents

Anyone with a special interest in the history of Colorado Springs and an inclination to learn more and share this knowledge with visitors and students is encouraged to apply to become a docent at the museum.

Docents go through an extensive training program and refresher courses with the Museum curator.  As a docent you will learn a script and lead tour groups through the Museum. Hours are flexible and the experience is fun.

Please contact the museum if interested.
