    McAllister House Museum Events for 2017

     

           Two talks to benefit Museum Operations

    September 23, 2017 1:00 PM

    Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknowns

    Presented by Mr. Tom Tudor, who served as Sentinel and then Commander of Relief at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier between February 1969 and Memorial Day of 1970.  For the past 30 years Mr Tudor has spoken on the history of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier to hundreds of audiences in 18 states.  He was a featured speaker at the National World War II Museum in 2016 and is scheduled to speak at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Library and Museum in November 2017.

    Women Air Force Pilots of WWII (WASPS)

    Presented by Ms. Mary Warren Daley, who graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1980 in the first coed class.  Ms. Daley served in the Air Force for 26 years in many capacities, including as a USAF professor.  Ms. Daley is fascinated by history and has spoken around the nation on the WASPS.  She is a member of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America in the State of Colorado and serves on the McAllister House Committee

    Talks are $25 each or $45 for both lectures

    Light Refreshments will be served after each talk.

    Both talks are being held in the Carriage House located behind the museum at 423 N. Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO 80903

              

     

     Public Teas:

    Annual Christmas teas are scheduled for December 2 and December 9, 2017 at 11:00 and 2:00.   Reservations are already being taken for these teas so please get yours in early.  They do sell out.

    All teas are $27 per person and include a tour of the museum. Teas are generally limited to 18 people

    Private teas can be scheduled with a minimum of 12 participants. We are also now doing special teas for children.

    To get more information on all these events call the museum at 719-635-7925.  All reservations must be made by calling the museum.  Please note that refunds cannot be issued any later than four days before a scheduled tea, once food is ordered from the caterer.
